Port Huron is home to some exquisite dating locations throughout the city. The Port has some beautiful scenic outlooks such as the Blue Water Bridge’s boardwalk and Atchison’s walking path.
Although the water is one of The Port’s finest traits there are still many other intriguing qualities within the area, such as ice skating .
“Ice skating is one of the best outdoor date ideas around Port Huron especially because of the popularity of ice hockey in the area, I definitely plan on going ice skating his winter.” said Claire Mills (‘21).
The downfall to ice skating is the variability in the weather causing safety issues on small ponds and lakes.
To be able to safely ice skate on the lakes it must be below 32 degrees for an extended period of time and the recommended thickness is about four inches.
“ The best part about ice skating is the options that we have in Port Huron, there are many different ponds and lakes to go skating on so there is never any lack of scenery,” said Mills
Restaurants also tend to be a popular dating idea in the area. “The Vintage is one of my favorite places to go on a date, going out to restaurants is a great way to relax and enjoy quality food, “ said Avery Westbrook (‘20) .
Restaurant dates seem to be one of the most popular ideas for teens and adults, especially in Port Huron because of the variety of styles to choose from. Restaurant styles can range from Mexican cuisine all the way to Italian food.
Movie theaters are a must in the world of dating. Port Huron has three big theaters around the city, Sperry’s Moviehouse, AMC Birchwood, and Krafft 8 movie theater.
“Sperry’s is my favorite movie theater to go on a date because it is usually slightly cheaper and the theater is nicer than all of the other local theaters,” said Trent Vonhiltmayer (‘20). “ I like how Sperry’s has a restaurant inside of it,” said Faith Aguinaga (‘20).
Sperry’s is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Port Huron which makes it a perfect spot for a date.
The city of Port Huron has many grand locations. From the pickiest eaters to the choosiest movie watchers Port Huron would be an ideal spot to go on a date.
